Whats there to read now? Sex positions in Cosmo? Size 0 fashion in Elle? O and its philosophical crap? Fair Lady with its lack of identity? A very, very unfortunate decision!!!!Posted on 14 Mar 2010 13:32

Talent on Mpowerfm - MPowerFM moves into Highveld territory
People just love generalising. If you really want to dissect the radio station then do it fairly. I listen to Mpowerfm religiously and I know that there are some ppl that dont deserve the shows they have but does every single one of them fall under that view?
I am from KZN and used to listen to Desire Simelane when she was on Gagasi 99.5, East Coast Radio and even P4 Radio. I was eccstatic to get to MP and hear her beautiful voice. She adds so much flavour to the station and sounds like she loves her job. Why didnt you mention her in your dissection?
Why did you not mention Vibe and how talented he is. From community radio to really holding it down on commercial radio.
Why dont you mention how Mpowerfm hones presenters skills and makes them better for other stations? Come on, this is a new station and you cant expect it to fly in 2 years. Give it time and the Rythm of Mp will be one of the best contenders for the Best and Fvourite radio stations in the land.Posted on 13 Mar 2010 17:18

I thought it could be rather easy to get completely the wrong message from the name of Solidarity's campaign - Helping Hand - given the subject of the great debate.Posted on 12 Mar 2010 15:28

The stupidity of it all - SA's 2010 share shocker
How did FIFA 'pull the wool over our eyes"?
They have been holding this event for many years and we BID to HOST it???????? If anyone is to blame its the bidders and NOT THE RIGHTS HOLDERS
South Africa wanted the event and the LOC knew what the cost would be and still wanted to host the MOST PRESTIGIOUS EVENT in the world
Did your tax go up? Did you have to fork out cash to pay for it? If not then chill and enjoyPosted on 12 Mar 2010 14:54

Healthy debate - No porn thanks - we're DStv
As we all know by now, DStv are not going ahead with the porn channel. Bear in mind that they were only surveying their subscribers to find out what they thought of it. In no way did they indicate they were going ahead and then backed off when a number of people complained.

DStv have sent out survey's before and its great to see that they do have a quite a healthy customer base that actually cares!Posted on 12 Mar 2010 14:49

Instead of whinging and whining - and blaming the Christians - get off your backside and do something about the conditions around you. A journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step - not the other guy running the race for you.Posted on 12 Mar 2010 14:28

DStv - money grabbing - No porn thanks - we're DStv
For Naspers/Multichoice, Porn = $.
Good thing that South Africans of all walks of life - and not just the religious - stood up against this money grabbing attitude of Naspers/Multichoice (don't they make enough as it is with their exhorbitant subs???).
If we want to have a moral society in all respects - we can't pick and choose those we want and those we don't. It's all or nothing.Posted on 12 Mar 2010 14:26

Wow - what valuable insights... - Get the most out of your freelance copywriter/editor
Thanks. I really appreciate the time you took to write that comment, which certainly serves to put the other side of the coin into focus. I agree with everything you've said, particularly,

'Find a company that is ethical, credible and reputable. Find out their terms and conditions. Decide if you want to accept them or not. Work with them for a couple of months and see if they are true to their word: do they pay on time etc. If they do, then treat them like gold, they are few and far between.'

Ultimately, the writer doesn't have a gun held to his/her head, and can choose to 'make an exception' for a middleman, or not. This also speaks to my point about giving and getting as much upfront info and clarity as is possible.

Thanks again.Posted on 12 Mar 2010 14:19

You don't have to be religious to hate porn ... - No porn thanks - we're DStv
You just have to have love life and your child and your husband and your wife and your family and all the good things the world is and could be ...

Porn is hate, greed, stupidity and ugliness made visible. And that comes from an atheist.Posted on 12 Mar 2010 13:54
What a pity - No porn thanks - we're DStv
We're such a pathetic bunch!
We're dead opposed to sex channels (that are paid for) - but we don't have a problem with public figures calling for whites to be killed.
And we don't mind our president asking the British government for millions of condoms to be used by our "visitors" during the World Cup.

What a lot of two-faced Christians here in deepest darkest Africa!!!Posted on 12 Mar 2010 13:47
