Registration for Net Prophet 2010 is officially open. This year's conference, hosted by the RAMP Foundation, will focus on digital innovation in Africa, as well as building a globally competitive IT economy in South Africa. 
JOHANNESBURG: Control Room, global music events producer, and FIFA, announced today, Wednesday, 17 March 2010, the first group of musicians confirmed to perform at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Kick-off Celebration Concert. Global artists will perform at the event taking place the night before the first match at 8pm (GMT+2) on 10 June at the newly-renovated Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg. 
The Festival of Media and MIPTV have partnered to offer a special package for delegates wishing to attend both events. 
The fourth annual Festival of Media, to be hosted 18 - 20 April 2010 in Valencia, Spain will feature a lineup of business leaders from the global communications and advertising industry. Speakers will address the issues affecting the industry and provide insight into how the marketing industry is evolving. 
JOHANNESBURG: MTN, 2010 FIFA World Cup sponsor, has unveiled a campaign that aims to support an African winner in the upcoming event. MTN plans to roll out its Africa United campaign across the continent, comprising communication across print, broadcast and online channels. 
The World Newspaper Advertising Conference, held late last week in Copenhagen, Denmark, looked at innovative advertising practices employed by newspapers globally to open up new revenue possibilities. The conference examined new trends and some unusual projects that show how flexible newspapers can be. 
As the city of Durban kicked off celebrations marking 100 days to the 2010 FIFA World Cup last night, 2 March 2010, it was evident that South Africa is on track to success as hosts of Africa's first World Cup. 
PARIS: MIPDOC, the international showcase for documentary screenings, has named the five producers to receive recognition at the International Trailblazer Awards at MIPDOC 2010, including the DRC's Djo Tunda Wa Munga. The event runs from 10 - 11 April 2010 at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes, ahead of MIPTV. 
Adam Smith, the director of Futures for Group M, which is owned by Martin Sorrell's WPP Group, will discuss the intentions of the major brand advertisers and agencies at the 20th World Newspaper Advertising Conference, to be held 4-5 March 2010 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
